Here at My Scent Club we are obsessed with smelling great and we want to help everyone have access to 100% designer fragrances without breaking the bank.
Fashion is not just about clothes and accessories, it is also about the final layer, the fragrance, that completes the look. Some people want to add that final piece but are not sure where to start, what will work for them and also if they can afford it. Let's not forget that more than 100 new fragrances get released every year and there are literally thousands to pick from. Fragrances also have seasons in which they were created for and how they work best. With all that to choose from it can be quite daunting to start.
Since the fall season is in full swing, we picked eight fragrances that have mass appeal for masculine, feminine and unisex preference.
Cozy sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes and a crackling fireplace. These are the things that remind us of the autumn months. At My Scent Club, one of our favorite things to do, is discover new fragrances or rediscover older classics that really pull together the season's pre-festive vibes and can help everyone smell amazing.
Tom Ford Oud Fleur was launched in 2013 and while the name implies that it may be more suitable for women, the DNA of the composition is so well blended that it balances the potential uber feminine notes from the rose and the masculine notes of the oud, to create a unique fall unisex fragrance. The notes that make it truly a fall fragrance though is the cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, sandalwood, patchouli, amber and the finish of resins.
Jo Malone Green Almond and Redcurrant was launched in 2017 and from start to finish this has very few ingredients. This is considered a gourmand (edible) fragrance. No, you cant eat it or drink it, it is an olfactory dessert. The green almond and the mandarin notes are tart but the Tonka bean and the sandalwood help usher in the approaching festive season. Its a great selection as a fall unisex fragrance and it can be layered with Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka if you fancy a more Christmas-y vibe.
Prada L'Homme Intensealso launched last year. Although iris is a very prominent note, the leather, amber and Tonka bean balance it out and but the finish of patchouli and sandalwood makes it a great choice for fall. It is an amped up version of Prada L'Hommebut a richer, dressed up, evening version.
Dolce & Gabbana The One has been around since 2008 and it is the first of its kind from D&G because it is warmer, spicier and more masculine with an oriental flavor. The notes in this very popular and classic men's fragrance begins with basil, bergamot, coriander and grapefruit but it has a heart of ginger, orange blossom and cardamom. What makes this an ideal fall fragrance is the base notes of tobacco, cedar and amber.
Boss Bottled Intense has been out since 2015 and it is an update of the original Boss Bottled from 1998. It contains a higher concentration of essential oils and it is more refined and spicy. It has fresh apple, green orange blossom, bergamot, cloves, cinnamon and geranium in its heart but its base is vanilla, vetiver, cedar and sandalwood. It sounds like a warm cozy drink but perfect for cooler fall weather.
Viva La Juicy Noir was released in 2013 as a limited edition but is now a standard in most stores. This one is so delicious you can just bathe in it. The combination of mandarin orange, wild berries, gardenia, jasmine and honeysuckle is so fresh that the base notes of amber, caramel, vanilla and sandalwood just warm it up perfectly and make it an excellent selection for fall but also as a great addition in anyone's collection.
Victor&Rolf Flowerbombhas been around since 2005. It has an intense explosion of floral notes from the Cattleya orchid, the Centifolia rose, freesia and Sambac jasmine. Its base notes of musk and patchouli gives it the sophisticated and deep richness of a sweet intense finish. Its an addictive fragrance and is a must have for a fall scent wardrobe.
Marc Jacob's Decadence is his first sophisticated fragrance released in 2015. It is elegant and luxurious with top notes of saffron, iris and Italian plum. It has a heart of Sambac jasmine, Bulgarian rose with a finish of amber, vetiver and papyrous flower. It is a very distinct scent, perfect for an evening out and the bottle is so beautiful you can carry it as a purse. Very carefully of course.
